ABDUL GANI VAKIL ADDRESSING WORKERS IN RAFIABAD STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil described the screaming and passing of Autonomy resolution by National Conference in its Working Committee as political opportunism and said everybody knows that By-Elections are to be held in the State in near future therefore NC has started to change its colors like a chameleon and started singing Autonomy song once again.
While addressing gathering here on Sunday, Vakil said that for the lust of power National Conference never raised its voice or resisted humiliating rejection of Autonomy report by the NDA Government during Vajpayee’s tenure but it preferred to remain silent for the fear of losing power.
Moreover, PDP allied with BJP which it declared untouchable during last assembly elections and put in dust bin its much hyped self rule formula. He reiterated that both NC and PDP exploited, befooled and cheated innocent masses of Jammu and Kashmir the way it suited them and both these parties forgot and drifted from their so called core ideologies either for sake of power or winning some seats.
Vakil reminded PDP and NC that people of the State are now wise enough to understand political gimmicks and can’t be befooled anymore. He said that perhaps NC has not learnt a lesson from the humiliating defeat of 2014 Assembly Elections where its victory was restricted to meager 12 seats in Kashmir which was its bastion once upon a time.
Vakil described the prevailing situation in J and K as a potential and certain threat to its diverse and composite culture existing here since centuries. He blamed BJP for endeavoring to polarize situation in J&K by patronizing elements, who are hell bent to divide this mini India on religion and regional lines. He said that now BJP is trying to achieve its dangerous hidden agenda by infusing and fueling trouble in educational institutions also which highly unaffordable not only for the whole country but also for J&K because youth cannot be made scape goats for political achievements of any party and the trend of destabilizing educational atmosphere in educational institutions has direct bearing upon the career of youth.
Former Minister said that occurrence of incidents at NIT Srinagar, Handwara, Rajouri and now Aligarh Muslim University must be eye opener for PDP, therefore, it is imperative upon its leadership to remain vigilant and not let the situation go out of control here because the ideology of BJP is disharmonious and communal which reflects in tackling of NIT Srinagar issue by BJP through Union HRD Ministry.
Others who addressed the gathering include Pandit Brijnath Nehru, Mohammad Shafi Banday, Sardar Trilok Singh, Sardar Teja Singh and Deepak Sharma.
