JAMMU: The State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) on Wednesday caught red-handed a Girdawar while accepting Rs.5,000 in lieu of attestation of mutation and providing its copy.
According to an FIR, one Harish Sharma, son of Vijay Sharma, resident of Bakshi Nagar, Jammu lodged a complaint against Girdawar Mohammed Ashraf, presently posted at Laxmi Puram Chinore Bantalab, Jammu, that his mother Poli Devi owns 7 Marlas of land falling under Khasra No.63 min khata No.18 at Khewat No. 02 situated at Chak Changerwan (ward No.64) which has been purchased form Deepak Kumar and duly registered.
The complainant applied for the attestation of mutation/copy for which the Girdawar demanded Rs. 5, 000.
On this complaint, FIR10/16 was registered and a trap team consisting of Dy SP H L Pandita,  Inspectors Vikram Sharma, Zafar Amin and Naresh Sharma constituted by SSP Dr. Kosual Kumar Sharma. The team arrested the accused Mohammed Ashraf red handed and recovered Rs 5, 000- from his custody in presence of independent witnesses.
