Civil B lifts Inter Departmental Cricket title at IECS

JAMMU: Civil B team defeated Electrical Engineering Department by a margin of 23 runs in the summit clash to win the Inter Departmental Cricket Tournament at IECS Polytechnic Jammu.
Earlier, put into bat, Civil B scored a fighting score of 95 runs in the 10 overs, losing three wickets in the process. Aadil, the captain of the Civil B team, was the top scorer with 61 runs, which includes seven sixes, while Kabir took two wickets for Electrical Department.
In reply, Electrical Engineering Department was bundled out for 72 runs. Aadil took two wickets for Civil B team. For his valuable 61 runs and two wickets, Aadil of Civil B was declared Man of the Match.
Principal of IECS Polytechnic, Prof. K.G Gupta appreciated the efforts of faculty members for smooth conduct of all the matches during the tournament and also congratulated the winning team.
The match was officiated by Abhinav and Darshan Kumar as Umpires and Durgesh Kumar and Sandeep Singh as Scorers. The tournament was played under the supervision of Amit Sharma, Sports Secretary.
Others present on the occasion included Ajay Jamwal, Dean administration, H.N Bhat, Anil Warikoo, Sonia Kohli, Preeti Sundan and Opinder Kour.
