Mir for return of KPs with dignity, sense of security

NAGROTA: JKPCC Chief, G.A Mir has said that the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits in an atmosphere of peace harmony and sense of security is of paramount importance as Kashmiri culture and Kashmiriyat is incomplete without this.
Addressing a day-long convention of the PCC Migrant Cell at Jagti here on Sunday,
Mir Said the Kashmir and Kashmiriyat is incomplete without the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits as the age old secular credentials of Kashmir are under question without the return and rehabilitation to their native land, with dignity in an atmosphere, where they feel adequate sense of safety and security to their lives and property as well their religious rights. He said that the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley is a blot on the secular tradition and religious brotherhood, for which Kashmir and Kashmiriyat is known and their return is unfinished agenda and challenge to all political dispensations in the country and State, as well as those who believe in the secular values of the country.
Mir said that the Congress Party did its utmost to look after the interests of the Kashmiri migrants and made efforts aimed their welfare, return and rehabilitation although nothing can compensate their agony, suffering and pain, of being away from their native places.
Mir appealed to the Kashmiri migrants to make efforts to rebuild their social and cultural relations in Kashmir, in order to help create an atmosphere of harmony and brotherhood to help and facilitate efforts for creating a desired atmosphere in this regard.
Extending full support to the genuine issue of the displaced Kashmiri migrants, Mir asked the migrant cell of the party to redouble their efforts to strengthen the bonds at the grass root level to help resolve their problems and win back their confidence in the policies and programmes of the Congress Party.
The major concern of the displaced people highlighted on the occasion included provision of ration as per old pattern, speedy implementation of PM’s Employment Package, bifurcation of ration cards to the migrants be made easy, backward certificate for migrants as per past practice, pass Temple Shrine Bill, inclusion of whole migrants children up to 10 plus with full relief benefits, the relief money for newly born babies enhanced from Rs.400 to 1,500 per month and upgradation of road from Kol Kandoli to Jagti Township.
