8 Open State Bench Press Championship concludes Adil becomes Power Man in Sr, Sawan in Jr category

JAMMU: Lifting 172.5 kilograms in 93 kg weight category, Adil Ashraf became Power Man in Senior Category of Open State Bench Press Championship, while Sawan Kumar became Power Man in Junior Category by lifting 115 kilograms weight. In master category, Fazal Paul became best lifter by lifting 142.5 kg weight.
Minister of Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat was the chief guest on the occasion, who distributed prizes among the winners and the runners-up players.
In all, 110 players participated in the championship, which was organised by All J and K Power Lifting Association Jammu at Indoor Sports Complex, Multipurpose Hall, MA Stadium.
The championship was conducted under the supervision of executive members of association namely Rajeev Charak, Ajay Sharma, Sanjeev Singh Rakwal, Rahul Sawhney, Vinay Sharma, Anshuman Sharma, Sumit Gupta, Daljeet Singh and Deepak Jyoti.
Earlier, in 59 kg senior category, Sawan Kumar, Bodh Raj andAditya Sharma claimed gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, while in junior category of this weight, Sawan Kumar, Md. Ziaul Haw and Aditya Sharma bagged gold, silver and bronze respectively.
In 66 kg senior category, Sandeep Singh, Akashy Gupta and Vishal Chib bagged gold, silver and bronze respectively, while in junior category of this weight, Vikram Pandey, Akashy Gupta and Rahul Sangral claimed gold, silver and bronze respectively. Rajesh Gupta won gold in master-I category.
In 74 kg senior, Shiv Dev Singh, Gurpreet Singh and Parveen Kumar won gold, silver and bronze respectively, while in junior category of this weight, Arjun Saini, Azim Aslan and Raman Choudary claimed gold, silver and bronze respectively. Suresh Kumar won gold in (Master- I), Pardeep Kr Sharma silver in (Master – II), Jaivinder Singh (Master-II) and Wazir Gill (Master-III), joint bronze.
In 83 kg senior category, Harish Kumar won gold, Sandeep Barnotra clinched silver and Shashank Sharma claimed bronze, while in junior category, Vikram Deep, Aman Sharma and Shashank Sharma bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In 93 kg, Adil Ashraf, Diggi Sharma and Dashyant Ghai clinched gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, while Dashyant Ghai, Lal Kumar and Gagandeep Singh bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively in junior category. Motinder Paul Khajuria clinched gold in master category while Uttam Mangral won silver.
In 105 kg, Waqur Paul, Mirdual Ghai and Raman Kumar claimed gold, silver and bronze medals respectively in senior category, while in junior category, Raman Kumar and Shokit Malik claimed gold and Fagul Paul clinched gold in master category.
In 120 kg, Fagul Paul, Roshan Sharma and Abhishek Langeh claimed gold, silver and bronze in senior category, while Dhoak Mansotra and Parvinder Singh clinched gold in junior and master category respectively.
The championship was sponsored jointly by Galaxy Gym Nai-Basti, National Championship Gym Sari Rakwal, KK Health Club/ Gym Akhnoor and Maha Lakshmi Institute of Information and Technology Ghou Manhasan.
