Valley turmoil

0 136

There is no doubt that public memory is too short. Today nobody is talking about the students’ future, regional discrimination, threats etc and the best forgotten is the NIT issue. The fallout of an IPL match, the controversy kept the media, people, students, politicians and all those who thought they are relevant in the design of the things for almost over a week. The din of the issue has not died another one  involving a fabricated ‘rape’ of a girl student remained in the limelight. This time it is the favourite Kashmir problem, the security forces. Both the incidents have a common link that is the present day youth which has grown up seeing the turmoil and the trouble torn environment in Jammu and Kashmir.  So it has all the right ingredients to keep the climate  hot and political leaders  on tenterhooks. What appeared initially a spontaneous reaction today looks as if being orchestrated somewhere else? With the sudden surge of mob, a major portion consisting of youth cements, the logic emerges that this is no spontaneous reaction but a well planned move to keep the Valley boiling. Over and above in such a situation BJP asking for an impartial enquiry into the firing and killing of the youth sounds quite out of place. It seems that the party in the State has not come out of its opposition hangover   and neither the reality that they are partners in ruling dispensation along with PDP. Otherwise such statements from the party State President looks unwanted and untimely. Large-scale unemployment and lack of resources have been a bane of the State and a large number of youth have fallen in the trouble-creators trap. Government should address these issues on priority rather than issuing false promises, as was done by earlier government, if it really wants to stem the malady which is over three decades old otherwise these type of incidents would become agent provocateur in future also.
