UDHAMPUR: Congress activists under the leadership of Senior Congress leader Sumeet Magotra staged protest against BJP – PDP State Government for brutal lathicharge by police on innocent NIT students in NIT Campus Srinagar those were protesting against anti India slogans by a particular faction of students during a cricket match between India and West Indies.
Congress activists blocked Dhar Road near the Office of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur and raised slogans against State Government and Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh for his irresponsible statement on this very sensitive issue.
While addressing the gathering Sumeet Magotra expressed that newly constituted State Government led by BJP – PDP has given a special gift of lathicharge to the patriotic forces specially the student section of the society. While accusing Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh on his irresponsible and irrelevant statement over this incident and brutal act of Police lathicharge, he said that BJP collation with PDP is not a ideological and holly alliance. It is felt in the society that BJP has compromise with PDP only for the lust of power he added.
