Left-over migrant shopkeepers seek allotment of shops at Jagti
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Left over Kashmiri migrant shopkeepers from Jagti Township on Tuesday held a protest against the Relief authorities for not allotting shops at Jagti in their favour. They demanded cancellation of list of shopkeepers framed by Relief authorities vide order No. DIP/ J 11097 dated 29th March, 2016 terming it biased and faulty and demanded allotment of shops in their favour at Jagti Township at an earliest.
They said the list has been framed without following any criteria and it seems that a pick and choose method has been adopted by the Relief Commissioner in allotting the shops and no weightage has been given to migrants whose CDR worth Rs 1500 is lying with the Relief Organisation since March 2011. Moreover the Relief Commissioner has ignored the over aged educated youth of the community, they allege. They demanded that the shops must be allotted to the migrants, who are dependent completely on relief having none of their family members doing any kind of job, after proper investigations.
