KATHUA: Excise Department on Tuesday destroyed over 1400 kgs of Lahan which was recovered in various raids conducted here.
Excise team under the command of Excise and Taxation Officer, Kathua Excise Range, Sandeep Gupta raided the Upper Saktachak, Kokhyal and Chakdrabkhan of Kathua District. Similarly, the Eradication Wing Jammu in coordination with Excise Team City South Range, Jammu, under the command of ETO, Suresh Sharma conducted various raids in Deoli, Makhanpur, Kotheybulanda, Lalyana, Shiekhpura, Shibuchk, Kotla, Kriemanhasa and Rehal in Bishnah area of Jammu District.
During raids, more than 1,400 kg of Lahan, one working still and ten bottles of illicit liqour made from Lahan were recovered which were later destroyed by the team on spot.
