JAMMU: Flaying the ugly turn of events in the NIT Srinagar on the night of T20 world cup match between India and West Indies, Surinder Yadav, General Secretary Rajasthan Panthers Party, has sought strict action under law against all those who indulged in anti-national activities inside the campus.
“All those who raised Pro Azadi slogans, celebrated the defeat of India in semi-finals of World Cup, pelted stones on those raising pro-India slogans besides indulging in India bashing were required to be booked for sedition,” he told reporters here today.
He further condemned the burning of Tricolour and raising of pro-Pak slogans in Dental College Jammu by some notorious elements and sought invocation of relevant provisions of law against the felons.
Regretting the incident, he revealed that the NIT had expelled 8 to 10 students hailing from Rajasthan for no reason as they were only opposing the students who were raising anti-national slogans.
“BJP which indulged in jingoistic harangues and made tall claims of ‘Zero Tolerance’ against anti national activities had crossed all limits of timidity and greed to play stooge in the hands of PDP led government,” he alleged.
He further sought adequate security to those students of NIT Srinagar who were attacked for raising pro-India slogans and exhorted the institute authorities to revoke the expulsion of the students and take them back without any delay.
Others present in the press conference included Kailash Talwara, District President Nagore, Perman Ram Choudhary and Naveen Bali.
