Annual Sports meet held at MIER College

JAMMU: The Annual Sports Meet of the MIER College of Education was organized at its campus which was inaugurated by Dr Adit Gupta, Joint Director, MIER Group of Institutions.
Students took part in events like Tug of War, Badminton, Volleyball and Kho-Kho. All the students and staff members witnessed the sports meet and cheered the participants.
Dr. Adit Gupta encouraged the students to whole heartedly take part in such events.
“Proficiency in co-curricular activities including sports is an integral part of becoming an effective teacher and that will develop a whole some personality in the pupil teachers,” he said.
The entire event was organized by Rajendra Praveen, Incharge Games and Sports Unit, MIER College of Education and Usha Chunni, Sports Officer MIER along with the PTI’s Dinesh Sharma and Priya of Model Academy.
More than 80 students from different wings of MIER College of Education participated in all the events.
In tug of war Girls and Boys mixed Team A of B.Ed defeated Team B of M.Ed. The Boys Single Badminton matches were held between teams of B.Ed General and B.Ed Special Education. Deepak Salgotra of B.Ed General was the winner and Mohinder Kumar of B.Ed Special was the runner up in boys Single Badminton while in Girls doubles Badminton matches, Team E comprising of Nisha Devi and Pallavi Viz of B.Ed outplayed Team C comprising of Preeti Sharma and Usha Kumari of B.Ed. Team A overpowered Team B in volleyball and claimed the title. Girls matches for Kho Kho were held between the three different departments of the college and Team A of
B.Ed was the winner and Team C of M.Ed bagged the second place.
