JAMMU: The Government has exempted cinema halls located in malls and multiplexes from payment of duty up to 30th June 2016 leviable under Jammu and Kashmir Entertainment Duty Act- 1959.
“In exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (3) of Section-11 of the Jammu and Kashmir Jammu and Kashmir Entertainment Duty Act- 1959 and in continuation of SRO-122 dated: 31th March, 2006, the Government hereby exempt Cinema Halls located in Malls and Multiplexes from payment of duty leviable under the said Act up to 30th June, 2016,” reads the notification issued by the Commissioner Secretary to the Government, Finance Department.
