Law Department, Law School in QFs of JU cricket

JAMMU: Department of Law and Law School registered convincing victories to move into the next round of quarterfinals in the ongoing inter-department cricket tournament at University of Jammu Ground, here on Friday.
In the first match of the day, Department of Law defeated Department of Life Long Learning by seven wickets. Batting first, Life Long Learning made 103 runs for five wickets in 15 overs. Rishav played brilliant innings of 34-ball 63 runs while Amit added 11. For Law Department, Rohan Sharma, Arun Singh and Vikram shared apiece each.
In reply, Department of Law chased the target of 104 runs in 11.3 overs losing three wickets. Somya Jain played superb innings of 51 runs coming off 32 balls while Abhinanadan and Arun added 17 and 12 runs respectively. Rishav claimed two wickets for Life Long Learning and Deepak took one.
Meanwhile, in another scheduled match of the day, Law School trounced Department of Education by eight wickets.
Education, batting first, scored 103 runs losing seven wickets in given 15 overs. Anoop Singh (35) and Gurvinder (21) were main scorers. For Law School, Shahrukh claimed three wickets.
Later, Law School overhauled the target making 107 runs for just two wickets in mere 8.2 overs. Gourav played match winning knock of 72 (off 32 balls, 11×4, 3×6) runs while Sahil added 10. Gurvinder and Ravial took one wicket each.
Today’s matches were officiated by the technical panel comprising Rahul Sharma, Vinay Manhas, Raj Kumar and Jagtar Singh as Umpires while Sat Pal and Rahul Sharma were Scorers.
