39,777 appear in written test for constables

JAMMU: The written test for the post of constables in J&K Police was held in both Jammu and Kashmir Zones under TRP in 75 centers (45 in Jammu Zone and 30 in Kashmir Zone).
According to sources, 40,339 candidates were called for the test including 23,573 from Jammu Zone and 16,766 from Kashmir Zone.
However a total of 39,777 candidates i.e 23,242 in Jammu Zone and 16,535 in Kashmir Zone appeared in the written examination.
However, 562 i.e 331 from Jammu Zone and 231 from Kashmir Zone remained absent in examination. 98.61 per cent candidates appeared in the written examination (98.6 per cent in Jammu Zone and 98.62 per cent in Kashmir Zone).
During the examination, 1,061 supervisors and approximately 3,800 Invigilators were deployed to conduct the examination.
Director General of Police (DGP), K Rajendra Kumar inspected various examination centres and took stock of the arrangements put in place for transparent recruitment. He expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by the Police Recruitment Board in coordination with district police. He said that the recruitment process which was initiated in 2015 has passed through various methods including outdoor tests and after short-listing around 40,000 candidates are appearing in this examination. He said that the whole process was done in transparent manner which was quite visible by the enthusiasm and faith of the candidates as the latest facilities were provided by the Board. “State Level Control Room was also established at Armed Headquarters to monitor the examination through the videogrpahy”, he further informed.
Chairman of Police Recruitment Board, L. Mohanti along with senior police officers and Board members also inspected various examination centres in Jammu city and other districts of Jammu Zone.
