DODA: Timely action by alert troops of Territorial Army unit under Delta Force averted major fire inside a shop at Thalela Village in Doda District.
On the night of 18th March 2016, a patrolling party of unit spotted smoke coming out of the shop of village. The party immediately raised alarm, broke open the shop and informed the unit for further assistance.
Meanwhile the persons of patrol party used local available sand and water to douse the fire.
Timely and prompt action has prevented major fire incident and possible loss to life and property as the shop in close vicinity is used to store the LPG cylinders, a major fire hazard.
The villagers have appreciated the alertness and the initiatives displayed by the troops of Delta Force.
