UDHAMPUR: A workshop on anti smoking was organised by Directorate of Health Services Jammu at Bhartiya College of Education Udhampur in collaboration with International Union for TB Voluntary Health Association.
On this occasion, the Chief Guest was CMO Dr. Chander Prakash and other Guests of Honour were Dr. Narinder Bhatyal Medical Superintendent District Hospital Udhampur and Swantantra Dev Singh Kotwal on behalf of Civil defence.
The programme was started with lighting of lamp, and then guests were formally welcomed by Dr. Anita Bali, Principal of the College.
Students also gave presentation on anti smoking. They made the audience aware about the ill-effects of smoking and how it effects our normal life. Swantra Dev Singh Kotwal and Dr. Narinder Bhatyal Medical Superintendent District Hospital Udhampur also made the students aware about the menace of tobacco. They also discussed measures to overcome this menace and motivated students not to accompany such ill habits.
In the end, Chief Guest CMO Dr. Chander Prakash motivated students to work upon their thinking and focus on education to overcome this problem. He pressed over the slogan of mass movement and also stressed on to quit smoking as well as stop others to smoke.
