KISHTWAR: Residents of Ward No-1 of Kishtwar held a protest against PHE Department for their failure to provide water supply.
The residents of Ward No 1 assembled near Green Model School Kishtwar and staged a protest against PHE authorities and also blocked main road near Green Model School and Zalala Road for several hours to register their protest against acute shortage of drinking water in the area.
People raised slogans against PHE Department and the concerned officials for ignoring their sufferings in the absence of proper water supply.
“We have not taken bath for last many days and are bound to wear dirty clothes,” said a protester.
People demanded from PHE Department to make proper arrangement for the supply of water in all areas in a proper manner otherwise be ready to face series of agitations.
XEn PHE Kishtwar visited the protesting people, listened their greivences and assured them that he would ensure proper water supply. After assurance from XEn ,people called off their protest.
