Seven teaching staff found absent, salary withheld

BHADARWAH: Chief Education Officer (CEO) Doda ordered withholding of salary of seven teaching officials including lecturer, masters and teachers for their unauthorised absence from duties without any valid reason.
They were found absent when the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Doda along with his team conducted surprise visit in the government schools in Bhagwah and Dessa Blocks of District Doda on Friday.
All the seven teachers, including three lecturers, two masters and two teachers, were yet to report to duty since the opening of schools on 1st March.
Taking cognisance of ADDC’s report, Chief Education Officer Doda, Mohd Ashraf Rather ordered the withholding of their salaries under order number CEO /DC /M/49411/14 with immediate effect.
He also sought an explanation from the absentee teaching staff within seven days.
“In view of the unauthorised absence of the officials from their legitimate duty, salary of these officials has been ordered to be kept withheld with immediate effect and besides all of them are under direction to explain the cause of their absence with in week’s time, failing which action warranted under rules shall be initiated against them,” said CEO Doda.
The officials who were found absent from Higher Secondary school Bhagwah include, Rakesh Kumar Lecturer Geography, Kirpal Singh Master, Kanchan Devi teacher and those who were found absent from Higher Secondary School Dessa were Mohd Younis Lecturer Urdu, Ashok Kumar Lecturer History, Sanjeev Sharma (Master) and Jiya Lal ( Teacher).
