BHADARWAH: Youth A Cricket Club Bhadarwah won the thrilling match by one run in the final of Cricket Tournament for the Youth organised by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Bhadarwah under Delta Force at Sartingal, Bhadarwah on Friday.
The tournament was organised under the Sadbhavana initiative in remembrance of Martyr Naib Subedar Chuni Lal.
A total of 16 teams from nearby villages of Sartingal and Bhadarwah participated in the tournament.
In the final played on Friday, Youth A Cricket Club, Bhadarwah defeated Masood A Cricket Club, Bhadarwah by one run.
The winner and runner-up teams were felicitated with trophies and medals. Man of the series, man of the match, best batsman and best bowler were also awarded with medals.
Chief Guest, Mohd Anwar Banday, SDM Bhadarwah gave away trophies to winner and runner up teams and individual awards to man
of the series, man of the match, best batsman and best bowler.
Speaking on the occasion, Banday lauded the efforts of Martyr Naib Subedar Chuni Lal, who by making the supreme sacrifice has made the army and people of J and K proud. He added that
conducting such sports activities in remembrance of the brave heart soldier will be a great inspiration for the youth and students. He further added that the sports activities promoted by Delta Force in Bhadarwah Tehsil will provide an opportunity to the youths to showcase their talent and acquire a level of self-confidence and their energy will be utilised in constructive direction which in turn will contribute in Nation building.
