CRPF XI beat SMVDSB XI in friendly tie

JAMMU: Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) XI registered a fine six wickets win against Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) XI in a friendly match played at Sports Stadium, Katra in district Reasi today.
Batting first after winning the toss, SMVDSB set a target of 154 runs for the loss of seven wickets, which, in reply, CRPF XI chased losing their four wickets.
Moksh and Sunit remained top scorers from SMVDSB with 31 and 29 runs respectively while Sham (25) and Amit (17) were other batsmen who could touch the double figure mark. From CRPF XI, Umar Bhatt, Khande, Subash and Khan shared one wicket each.
Later, CRPF attained the goal making 157 runs with six wickets in hand. Umar Bhatt played brilliant knock of 49 runs while Waqar and Ajay added 26 and 22 runs respectively. Saini contributed 18 runs to the total. Moksh, Wahid Hussain and Puran took one wicket each.
Additional Chief Executive Officer (CEO), SMVDSB, Dr M K Kumar was special guest in the match which was witnessed besides others by senior officers of the CRPF. Earlier, Director Sports, Ashok Kumar welcomed both the teams.
