Re-structure, redesign PM’s return, rehabilitation package: YAIKS
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Accusing the government for its total failure in framing a concrete policy of the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits in Valley, Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) on Friday demanded PM’s return and rehabilitation package of KPs to be re-structured, redesign and revised.
Talking to reporters here on Friday, YAIKS State Chief R.K Bhat said “We were optimistic about Namo Government under the leadership of Narendra Modi but unfortunately the present dispensation too is adopting the same age old strategy and the whole KP community is suffering.”
“During these 26 years two generations of our community have passed away in the hope that a day will come certainly when they will be rehabilitated in our motherland, but all our hopes are dashed to ground, as the successive governments have failed to create a congenial atmosphere for return,” he said adding that the so called sense of security for KPs in Valley is witnessed when all the employees working there had again been forced to migrate during the recent unrest in Valley.
“When government could not rehabilitate just some 2,000 youth of the community who volunteered themselves to work there to maintain communal harmony and brotherhood; how come they are claiming to rehabilitate 65,000 families under the scheme? he questioned.
YAIKS made it clear to State as well as Central Governments that no return formula of KPs will be accepted unless government does not take the demands into the consideration which include Smart Cities for the return and rehabilitation of KPs, declaration of KPs as Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), one time compensation of Rs.25 lakh in favour of over-aged youth of the community, implementation of left over posts out of total 15,000 jobs sanctioned by the Prime Minister of India in 2008.
“YAIKS will vigorously keep doing protests, seminars and workshops and will also invite all political setups of the nation for open discussion and debates,” he said and added “We will expose government’s intensions in the name of so called rehabilitation package which is a total failure and mere eyewash.”
B.K Bhat-Vice President, Manoj Handoo-General Secretary, Sanajy Ganjoo and Ajay Safaya-Secretaries, Advisor’s D.N Bhat, Pushkar Nath Pandita, Shuban Krishan Koul, Mohan Lal Pandita and Bhushan Lal were also present.
