JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir today held Haryana to 1-1 draw in the opening league tie of group in the 72nd Santosh Trophy (North Zone) Senior National Football Championship underway at Sunder Nagar in Himachal Pradesh.
As per the reports reaching here, though J and K conceived the goal in within the very first 15 minutes of the game. It was followed by a number of chances created by fight J and K side but could not be materialized with the result lead remained in favour of Haryana 1-0 at the end of first half play.
After the breather, the young J and K side turned aggressive, keeping more ball possession and always looking for goals. After continuous attacks on opponent goal area, J and K succeeded in leveling the score on board just five minutes before the final whistle. Hanan scored the all important goal to help the side level the score and share point.
However, in the extra time, both sides made all out efforts to bring in change in the score but could not do so. J and K still have two games to go in the group so the hopes are still alive.
