‘Declare holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh’s birthday’

JAMMU: Shri Amar Kshatriya (Rajput) Sabha J&K urged upon the State Government to declare 23rd September, the Birth Anniversary of late Maharaja Hari Singh Ji of J and K, as gazetted holiday. A working committee meeting of Shri Amar Kshatriya (Rajput) Sabha J and K was held under the chairmanship of Kr Naryan Singh, President of the Sabha here on Sunday.
Almost all the working committee members, hailing from Kathua, Samba, Jammu, Rajouri, Poonch, Udhampur, Reasi, Kishtwar, Ramban and Doda Districts attended the meeting.
All the working committee members present in the meeting were shocked to see the attitude of the State Government for not declaring the 23r of September, as yet as gazetted holiday, despite of the facts and assurances given by the elected representatives of all the political parties, present in the Rajput Virat Ekta Sammelan of Rajput Members at MAM Stadium Jammu.
Kr Naryan Singh apprised that the Sabha further submitted the copies of memorandum of demands to all those representatives of political parties who were present in the Sammelan to take up the issue of declaring 23rd of September as Gazetted Holiday immediately. He appealed to the State Government to concede this genuine demand of Rajput community immediately.
Among those who spoke on the occasion include Capt Inder Singh, District Rajput Sabha President Samba, Capt. Arjun Singh Reasi, Udhampur, K.S Jasrotia District Rajput Sabha President Kathua, Master Jagdish Singh Rajouri, Capt. Kulbir Singh Majalta, Capt. Balwan Singh Bishnah and P.S Bhardwaj District Session Judge (Retd).
