POONCH: Police XI defeated Media XI by eight runs in the friendly cricket match played at Sports Stadium, here on Sunday. Earlier, Police XI captained by SHO Poonch Jatindar Raina won the toss and decided to bat first.
Guided by DySP S.S Salathia’s 59 runs police XI made 151. Irshad Kirmani and Sarfraz made 26 runs each.
In reply, Media XI failed to chase the target. Aman (36) and Javid Reshi (29) runs were the main scorers. Captain of media eleven Salil Raina remained not till final ball. Official DySP DR M.R Ghri, Dy SP Headquarter Mohan Lal, J.B Singh, Rajinder Singh Toofan and Dhunaj Sharma were also present.
