Zorawar, Dewal Clubs win in Police T20

REASI: Zorawar Cricket Club (ZCC) Reasi and Dewal Cricket Club (DCC) won their league matches in the ongoing Police T20 Cricket Tournament being organised by District Police Reasi under Civic Action Programme at Sports Stadium, here on Tuesday. The tournament is being held under the supervision of Tahir Sajad Bhat, SSP Reasi.
In first match of the day, ZCC Reasi defeated SRCC Jyotipuram by four wickets.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, SRCC Jyotipuram was bowled out on meager total of 95 runs in 13.5 overs. Karan was the top scorer with 25 runs while Ajit and Pintu added 11 runs each to the total. For ZCC Reasi, Shivam captured three wickets, while Anku took two and Sanjay claimed one wicket. Extras contributed 23 runs to the total.
In reply, ZCC Reasi managed to score 96 runs (14 extras) for the loss of six wickets in 13 overs, thus won the match by four wickets. Shivam made 23 runs off 19 balls while Abhi made 20 off 18 balls and Sanjay contributed 19 off 10 balls. Kaviter scalped three wickets for SRCC while Sahil claimed one.
For his all-round performance Shivam was declared Man of the Match. The match was witnessed by Pritam Singh, District Congress Pardhan, as Chief Guest. In another match, Dewal Cricket Club defeated Sungri Cricket Club by 10 runs. Dewal Cricket Club, batting first, made 104 runs including 26 extras in the stipulated 12 overs, losing eight wickets in the process. Mohin (17), Wasim (14) and Abid (12) runs were the main scorers. For Sungri Club, Monu picked three wickets while Daljeet and Vanik took two each.
In reply, Sungri Club was bundled out for a paltry total of 94 runs (36 extras) in 12 overs, thus lost the match by 10 runs. Amit was the only batsman who touched doble figure match with 22 runs off 11 balls, while Vanik and Gulshan Naresh made nine runs each. Wasim and Saleem shared two wickets each for Dewal Cricket Club, while Shabhaz grabbed one. Wasim was adjudged Man of the Match for his all-round display. Second match was witnessed by senior citizen, Beli Sharma was the Chief Guest. Today’s matches were officiated by the technical panel comprising Surinder Singh, Mohd Ashraf, Vishwajeet, Vikas and Vijaypal Singh.
