Bhalla, Manjit visit fire-affected, seek compensation

VIJAYPUR: Extending full support to the traders of Vijaypur area wherein several shops were gutted in a fire incident on Wednesday night, former Ministers Raman Bhalla and Manjit Singh stressed upon the government to provide appropriate compensation to the fire affected.
Bhalla and Manjit on Thursday visited the fire affected at Main Bazaar, Vijaypur and expressed grief over loss of property in the incident and showed sympathy with the affected families. The duo assured of all possible help.
While interacting with the fire affected, they demanded that necessary instructions should be passed to the district administration to prepare a detailed report about the quantum of losses suffered by the shopkeepers so that adequate compensation should be provided to them. They said that the government should do all that is needed to ensure their proper rehabilitation.
Responding to the demands of the shopkeepers of the locality; they assured that they will take up their demands with the authorities concerned.
They were told that two shops including one cloth house and one hardware and machinery shop and a Santro Car were fully damaged and three other adjoining shops partially damaged in a devastating fire at Vijaypur Market late last night.
