RAMNAGAR: Government Degree College Ramnagar organised a orientation-cum training programme on VISAKA (Vittiya Saksharta Abhiyaan) for digital and cashless transactions under the supervision of Dr. Pankaj Sharma Coordinator Visaka, in which the Principal Prof. Tara Nath was the Chief Guest, Susheel Sharma, Manager Jammu and Kashmir Bank, Ramnagar was the Keynote Speaker. Raghav Mahajan and Sakesh were the trainers. Around hundred registered volunteers participated in the programme.
The function started with the welcome address and introduction about VISAKA training programme through a PPT presentation by the Coordinator VISAKA. Dr. Pankaj Sharma apprised all present about the various aspects of role and function of VISAKA along with the plan of action as given by MHRD, Govt of India, from Less Cash to Cashless Economy.
It was followed by keynote address by Manager JKB Susheel Sharma, who oriented the volunteer students for doing cashless transactions and assured all present for giving every possible support from JKB to achieve it.
It was followed by two training sessions conducted by Sourabh Mahajan and Sakesh Sharma from JKB, Ramnagar. They did the practical training sessions with the staff and students participating in the training.
In his address the Chief Guest Principal Prof. Tara Nath laid stress on the need of hour to understand and be the part for less cash to cashless economy and also opined for organising of more such programmes as also accentuated to involve more and more students in the training and disseminate the awareness at large to the society with proper photographs and documentation.
The programme came to an end by the vote of thanks by the Nodal Officer Prof. Kewal Kumar.
The programme was attended by Prof. Barinder Singh Chib, Dr. Sandeep Dubey, Mohit, Rakesh Meenia, Shaveta Zutshi, Jyoti and other staff members and students of the college. The programme was appreciated by one and all.
