Saraswati, Mahore Clubs win in Police T20

REASI: Saraswati Cricket Club Reasi and Mahore Cricket Club won their league matches in the ongoing Police T20 Cricket Tournament being organised by District Police Reasi under Civic Action Programme at Sports Stadium, here on Wednesday.
In first match of the day, Saraswati Cricket Club Reasi defeated S. Star Cricket Club by eight wickets.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, S. Star Club scored 128 runs for the loss of two wickets in 15 overs. Neeraj played a fine knock of 67 runs off 50 balls while Tahir and Shahid added 20 and 13 runs respectively to the total. For Saraswati Club, Ashok and Amit claimed one wicket each. Extras contributed 27 runs to the total.
In reply, Saraswati Club, guided the Kapil’s brilliant inning of 89 runs off 40 balls chased the target making 130 runs (12 extras) for the loss of two wickets in 11 overs. Ashok made 19 off 12 balls and Akhil added five runs to the total.
Keshav and Shahid scalped one wicket each for S. Star Club. For his winning knock, Kapil was declared Man of the Match.
In another match, Mahore Cricket Club defeated Higher Secondary School (HSS) Reasi by 53 runs.
Mahore Club, batting first, set a target of 147 runs including eight extras in the stipulated 15 overs, losing six wickets in the process. Sunny Malik was the top scorer with 67 runs off 43 balls, while wasim scored valuable 42 off 32 balls and Mehran chipped in with 17 runs off nine balls. For HSS Reasi, Sunny picked three wickets while Nana and Sahil took two each.
In reply, HSS Reasi was bundled out for a paltry total of 93 runs (eight extras) in 13.4 overs, thus lost the match by 53 runs. Rishav and Anubhav made 24 runs each wgile sunny added two to the total.
Sunny Malik and Manzoor scalped two wickets each for Mahore Cricket Club while Mehraan grabbed one. Sunny Malik was adjudged Man of the Match for his all-round display.
