State volleyball teams leave for Nationals

JAMMU: The senior men and women teams of the State on Tuesday left for participation in the 65th Senior National Volleyball Championship to be held at Chennai (Tamil Nadu) from 24th to 30 th December under the banner of Volleyball Association of J and K.
Prior to their departure for the Nationals, the teams underwent 14 days intensive coaching camp which was organised by J and K State Sports Council at MA Stadium Sports Complex here.
The teams were given away sports kits by President of the Association, Sidharth Daluja in the presence of Joint Secretary of the State Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Sports Officer, Rajan Sharma.
Sujjad Hussain, Naresh Kumar, Akbar Ali, Muneer Aalam, Azhar Aziz and Razim Tariq and Mohd Tariq are accompanying the teams as coaches and managers.
The men’s J and K team has been placed in Pool-F with Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Bihar and Tripura. Similarly, in women’s section, J and K has been placed in Pool-C with Chandigarh and Gujarat being other sides.

MEN: Anas Younus (Srinagar); Amir Gulzar Bhat (Anantnag); Shokat Ahmed (Kulgam); Imtiaz Ahmed; Rajinder Pal Singh; Zorawar Singh; Zaffar Hussain; Mohd Imran; Susheel Sharma ; Romi Bhagat; Sher Singh (all JKP); Sandeep Singh of Akhnoor.
WOMEN: Insha Bashir; Sahrish Bhat; Zeenat Parvaiz; Iqra Qadri; Urwah-Hinan; Mehvish Khan (all Srinagar); Priyanka Bagal (Jammu); Shivani Bhau (Akhnoor); Shivali Kumari; Shivali; Shalvi Charak (all Samba); Ravinder Kour (R S Pura).
