NHM employees take out protest rally, project demands

JAMMU: A large number of National Health Mission (NHM) employees from all over the State under the banner of All J and K NHM Employees Association on Monday held a protest at Exhibition Ground near Press Club here demanding regularisation of their services.
Later, a large number of NHM employees working under different NHM Schemes viz NHM, RBSK, IDSP, RNTCP, NPCB, NLEP, NVBDCP and NIDDCP from all districts of the State took out a procession towards Civil Secretariat, which was foiled by police amidst minor scuffle.
Provincial President of the Association, Rohit Seth demanded regularisation of all NHM employees of J and K on the pattern of ReT or SRO 255, yearly enhancement of their salaries at 10 per cent as per NHM Guideline, immediate release of rural incentives for paramedics, job security to all NHM employees, maternity leave benefit for female NHM staff with release of their salary, timely salary, bringing all NHM employees under the ambit of new recruitment policy which was framed recently, equal pay for equal work, social security benefit, provident fund benefit and fixed salary for ASHAs.
The association warned government to concede the demands at the earliest otherwise a mass agitation would be started all over the State. Those who spoke on the occasion included Subash Verma, Ashok Choudhary, Susheel Sudan, Varinder Gupta, Hamid Parray, Mohit, Faizan Tramboo and Shaeen Nawaz.
