350th Centenary celebration of Guru Gobind Singh;Nagar Kirtan from Rajouri-Poonch accorded warm reception

JAMMU: The Nagar Kirtan which started from from Rajouri- Poonch and Akhnoor in connection with the 350th Centenary celebration of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, was accorded warm welcome by the Jammu Kashmir State Gurdwara Parbandhak Board and DGPC Jammu with religious fervour.
Chairman Jammu Kashmir Gurdwara Parbandhak Board, T.S Wazir said that already two Nagar Kirtans from Kathua- Samba and Doda – Udhampur belt organised with the cooperation of respective District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committees, were received in Jammu on 3rd and 10th December in which Gurmat Samagams were held at Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha Guru Nanak Nagar Jammu and Gurdwara Kalgidhar Sahib Rehari Jammu.
Today’s Grand Nagar Kirtan was first received at Domana where Wazir, Sant Tejwant Singh, Mohinder Singh Joint Secretary DGPC along with large number of DGPC Jammu, Sikh and social leaders welcomed the Sangat of Nagar Kirtan and ultimately the Nagar Kirtan comprising of thousands of devotees culminated at Gurdwara Talib Sahib Talab Tillo Jammu.
At Talib Sahib, the grand Gurmat Samagam was organised by Jammu Kashmir Gurdwara Parbandhak Board and District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Jammu in which Hazoori Ragi of Sri Darbar Sahib Bhai Kuldeep Singh and other local Jathas recited the Gurbani.
Prominent Sikh Preacher Bhai Harmeet Singh of Jammu and Dhaddi Jatha of Bhai Amrik Singh of Punjab threw light on the life and achievement of Guru Gobind Singh for Khalsa Panth. B.S Tiger President DGPC Rajouri also addressed the gathering.
Wazir disclosed that now another Nagar Kirtan from R.S Pura- Simbal belt will be received at Gurdwara Guru Nanak Sahib at Chand Nagar Jammu on 24th December and lastly the traditional Nagar Kirtan of Jammu will be organized on 2nd January 2017 followed by Parkash Diwas of Guru Gobind Singh Ji on 5th January 2014.
Similarly a seminar is being organized on 26th January at Zorawar Singh Auditorium University of Jammu in which prominent Sikh scholars Gurbachan Singh Bachan of University of Mumbai and Dr. Gurnam Singh Sangerha Advisor to Government of Canada and visiting Prof of GNDU Amritsar will throw light on life and teachings of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
The entire programme was conducted by Avtar Singh Khalsa, General Secretary DGPC Jammu and other prominent Sikh leaders including T.S Wazir, Jathedar Mohinder Singh, H.S Raina, Jagjeet Singh President DGPC Jammu, Advocate Surinder Singh, Narinder Singh Khalsa, Surjeet Singh, Kuldeep Singh Vice President DGPC Jammu, Manmohan Singh Treasurer DGPC, Mohinder Singh Joint Secretary DGPC, Manjeet Singh, Ranjodh Singh Nalwa, Ranjeet Singh and all the members of DGPC and other Sikh leaders were also present on the occasion.
