JAMMU: In a contempt petition filed by Secretaries of CJ and Judges seeking initiation of contempt proceedings against the respondents for non-implementation of judgment passed by the Division Bench (DB) whereby DB held that Secretaries of CJ, Judges are entitled to grades equivalent to KAS.
When the matter came-up for hearing on Friday, the DB comprising Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Tashi Rabstan after hearing Senior Advocate Sunil Sethi for the petitioners observed that Senior Additional Advocate General Seema has produced Government Order No.3398-LD (A) of 2016 dated 13th December, 2016 according sanction to the creation of two posts of Secretaries in the selection grade and three posts of Secretaries in the special scale with effect from the date of passing of order i.e from 13th December, 2016.
The DB said that proposal submitted by the High Court pursuant to the directions given by the Division Bench states that sanction to the creation of aforesaid posts be accorded with effect from the date when the incumbents became eligible for the upgraded scales, viz was 1st December, 2008 and granted two weeks’ time to modify the Government Order No.3398-LD (A) of 2016 dated 13th December, 2016.
