JAMMU: Police on Thursday arrested a drug peddler and recovered 58 bottles of corex from his possession.
According to reports, a police party of Police Post Sarwal led by SI Kali Charan, during Naka checking, signaled one Santro car bearing registration No JKO2L-6933 for checking. On seeing the police, the car driver tried to escape from the Naka but the police party trapped the vehicle.
During search of the vehicle, police recovered 58 bottles of corex codeine, which he were being carrying
illegally.
The arrested driver has been identified as Rajesh Kumar alias Shunna, son of Bal Krishna, resident of 315 Bharat Nagar, Rehari Colony, Jammu.
A case FIR No 190/2016 under Section 8/21/ 22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar Jammu.
The whole operation was supervised on ground by SHO Inspector Ashwani Kumar, SDPO Bakshi Nagar, DySP Nikhil Rasgotra and SP North, Dr Vinod Kumar.
