JAMMU: SAI Training Centre Jammu established their supremacy in the day one of the senior state basketball championship that got underway at the MA Stadium here on Thursday.
The championship being organized by the J and K Basketball Association. In first match, STC beat Jammu district 52-50 in a cliff-hanger. In the second match, Kathua men gave some anxious moments to STC terriers, before bowing down 32-45. In the last match of the day, defending champions STC warriors displayed superb offensive and defensive tactics to outplay their younger team STC terriers 69-51. Star players Ranbir and Shubham scored 17 points each for the winners. In the other matches, STC warriors (women) bt Jammu district 33-04, Udhampur (Men) bt Baramulla 20-10, STC warriors (women) bt STC Terriers 26-03.
