Pak training fidayeens to infiltrate via aerial route
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: If latest intelligence reports are to be believed terrorists handlers across Pakistan are currently imparting training to their young cadres and members of suicide squad to infiltrate inside the Indian territory by breaching the air space using paragliding equipment.
This change of tactic has been adopted by the militant handlers after BSF has been able to detect cross border tunnels used by the infiltrators to sneak inside the Indian territory. According to latest assessment made by the various intelligence agencies militant handlers have been training their recruits in paragliding to enable infiltration by air especially during the night. Following these sensitive alerts BSF has alerted all its local formations deployed along 194 km long International border between Pahadpur and Akhnoor to maintain tight vigil especially during evening hours.
Some of the jawans equipped with sophisticated surveillance devices including Night Vision devices and long range observation tools have been deployed across vulnerable places to carry out random checks during night patrol duties.
The Union Home Ministry has been taken in the loop and various security experts have been roped in to advice the border personnel on how to improve vigil and thwart the latest threat.
Apart from beefing up its defences along the forward posts the BSF has been directed to keep some of its men in the second tier of security ring along the border areas to pick these movements and infiltration bids through the aerial route.
Intel inputs suggest that fidayeen are being trained in paragliding techniques and have been camping in areas at a higher altitude so that they can easily gain height after they are launched and at last 5 kms deep inside the Indian territory to escape strict vigil along the border villages.
