JAMMU: The officers of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs department were directed to prepare a proposal for revising loading, unloading rates of gunny bags to Rs 2.65 per bag and replacing labourers above 65 years of age by their legal heir.
Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali issued these instructions while addressing a meeting with Labour Union representatives of the department.
The Minister instructed the officers to make a proposal for revising loading and unloading rates of gunny bags falling in range of 49 to 80 kg from Rs 2.22 per bag to Rs. 2.65 per bag. He also directed that the increment for loading and unloading of the bags should be done every year on April as per price index.
He said that those labourers who fall between the age group of 60 to 65 years would serve as Head Labour. He also directed that wages of FCS&CA labourers should be released before 10th of every month so that they do not face any kind of financial difficulty. Secretary FCS&CA, Shafiq Raina, Director FCS&CA, Jammu G S Chib, Director FCS&CA, Kashmir Tassaduq Jeelani and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
