160 students take part in DPS Jammu dance competition

JAMMU: Delhi Public School (DPS), Jammu, conducted inter-section dance competition on the theme ‘International Dances’, here on Thursday. Around 160 students took part in the competition with great zeal and enthusiasm.
Beautifully attired and with great vivacity students performed dances like Samba, Rumba, Ballet, Chinese Fan Dance, Butterfly Skating, South African Dance and Michael Jackson group dance. It was a treat for eyes watching children performing various difficult steps, foot-tapping music easily which left the audience spell bound.
The competition was adjudged by the experts Anil Baru and Shalini Pradhan. The winning trophy was bagged by Class V H while Class V F and V D clinched the first and second runner up trophy respectively.
Headmistress, Middle School, DPS Jammu, Meenu Gupta, while appreciating the confidence and talent of students, stated that apart from our Indian dances, learning about dances of other countries of the world offers opportunity to the students to explore more and widen their horizon of learning.
Additional Director/Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) D. Joseph congratulated the students for their brilliant performance and conveyed her best wishes to all the participants, particularly the winners.
