SSP seeks people’s cooperation in curbing crime

DODA: Zahid Naseem Manhas, SSP Doda along with Incharge Police Post Goha Marmat visited village Behota Marmat and conducted a police public meeting with the respectable of the area. The aim of the meeting was to strengthen the relations between police and public. The meeting was attended by 400 people including members of all communities, political and social groups, Sarpanches /Panches and prominent citizens of the area. Participants applauded the role of police for conducting such types of meetings to ensure better relationship between Police and Public and also requested to convene the meetings at other places to redress the common grievances of general masses. ADC Doda was also present on the occasion.
During the course of meeting, the participants put forth their demands which include fulfilling the deficiency of para-medical staff at various health centres in the area, widening/black topping of road from village Behota to Mangota Marmat, upgradation of High School Behota to Hr. Sec. School, storage of ration and other edible item in view of winter season, continuous electricity/water supply in the area and establishment of PHC centre at village Behota etc.
Participants were assured by the chairperson that their genuine demands will be taken up with concerned Departments for redressal and those pertaining to the Police Department will be considered at an earliest.
Manhas urged upon the participants to co-operate and strengthen the hands of police, so that the social crime, smuggling of drugs, bovine, illicit liquor, forest produce etc be eradicated from the society. The participants were assured that District Police Doda is trying its best to curb the crime from the society and asked for more cooperation from public, so that a crime free atmosphere is buildup.
The chairperson also interacted with the staff and students of HS Behota and while addressing the gathering explained the concept and idea regarding PCPG meetings and efforts of J&K Police to bridge the gap between police and public and providing the multiple avenues to the young generation for skill development, honing and also giving opportunities for competing at various levels.
He also stressed upon the participants of the area to promote the constructive activities in the area to strengthen the police public relations and maintaining of communal harmony.
