JAMMU: BJP State Spokesperson Prof. Virender Gupta strongly criticised the statement of Dr Farooq Abdullah, NC President and former Chief Minister, telling Hurriyat that NC is not its enemy; that National Conference is with Hurriyat in its ongoing agitation in Kashmir Valley and asking it to move forward and NC is with Hurriyat till its steps are on right track; asking NC workers not to remain away from the ongoing agitation which he called as struggle for right and justice abusing India and Indian forces as murderers”.
Gupta said that the statement of Farooq Abdullah proves beyond any doubt that NC and its workers are behind the present ongoing agitation launched by separatists and Pakistan sponsored terrorists. He asked Farooq whether he endorses the carrying of ISIS and Pakistani flags and raising pro-Pakistan, pro-Azadi and anti-India slogans; the stone pelting by youth, burning of schools; calls of Bandh by Hurriyat which is being observed for the last more than three months. He also asked that whether NC workers were behind all these acts, including stone pelting; attacking police posts. He charged Farooq of blow hot and cold in the same breadth praising Indian Prime Minister in one voice and vomiting poison against India and Indian Government at the same time.
The BJP spokesperson reminded Farooq Abdullah of his tenure as Chief Minister after 1996, when he tried to curb the separatists, Hurriyat leaders and the terrorists to remain in power and the role of NC in 2010, when Omar Abdullah as Chief Minister put hundreds of stone pelters and secessionists behind the bars. He also reminded Farooq of his statements when he was Chief Minister during NDA rule at the Centre and Omar of his role as Minister of State Foreign Affairs in the Vajpayee Government. Farooq’s recent statement and his statements during NDA rule at the Centre clearly reflects that Farooq was always opportunist and all his actions are merely to achieve political ends and he always turn coats for his own personal benefits.
Prof. Virender Gupta asked other leaders of NC including Devender Rana, S.S Salathia and Ajay Sadhotra, whether they endorse the statement of their leader Farooq Abdullah? How can they support and defend such utterances of Farooq and Omar, Gupta questioned.
