‘Do not sell, provide drugs, syringes without doctor’s prescription’

JAMMU: Police on Wedne-sday organized a workshop on anti-drug addiction in District Police Line, Jammu in which members of J and K Chemist and Drug Association, Jammu Chemist Association and Wholesale/ Retail Drug Traders participated.
SP Hqrs, R.C Kotwal and DySP Hqrs, Sugandha Mahjan were present.
Rohit Sharma, State Convener J&K Chemist and Drugs Association, Anil Mahajan Treasure J and K Chemist & Drugs Association, Namen Bali, President, Jammu Chemist Association, Prem Sharma, General Secretary, Jammu Chemist Association and Rajinder Prashad Senior Vice President, Jammu Chemist Association attended the workshop. The main focus of this programme was to eradicate the drug addiction from the society.
The SP Hqrs. Jammu sensitised them that SSP Jammu, Dr. Sunil Gupta, IPS has launched an operation Sanjeevni to prevent the youth from drug addiction under which many seminars have been organised in many education institutions of Jammu district to make aware the students about the drug abuse and its harmful effects in the life. Similarly, the association members were requested to co-operate to prevent the youths from drug menace. They were requested not to sell, provide drugs, syringe without proper perceptions of the doctor especially to the youths who are indulging in drug abuse and make misuse of it. They were asked to share the information with police regarding any drug paddler, illegal supplier, consumers, if they have. State Convener J&K Chemist and Drugs Association extended full support to police in curbing drug menace from the society.
