SAI appoints Deputy Director for J&K

JAMMU: To further strengthen the ever growing presence of the organisation and also to give an effective administration, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) has appointed an officer of the rank of Deputy Director for Jammu and Kashmir.
This officer, as per the orders issued by the SAI Directorate, shall station at Jammu to oversee the progress of various ongoing and proposed projects initiated by the Government of India for the development of sports.
Ajit Singh, who was posted as Deputy Director at important Regional Centre Chandigarh, has been made Incharge of J and K with Headquarter in Jammu.
Important to mention here that SAI has envisaged bigger plans for J and K for which an investment of Rs 200 crore has been earmarked by the Centre exclusively for sports.
Earlier, the administration control of the SAI in Jammu Kashmir was being looked into by Incharge STC (Sports Training Centre) Jammu and senior Cricket coach, Varinder Sharma.
