One killed, four injured in road accidents

SRINAGAR: One person died while four others were injured in different road accidents in the Valley.
In Srinagar, a Tata 604 load carrier bearing registration number JK01-7667 collided with a motorcycle bearing registration number JK01AC-0940 at Parimpora near PC Department, resulting in injuries to motorcyclist namely Imtiyaz Javid Sofi, resident of Barthana and pillion Basit Maqbool Gojri, son of Mohammad Maqbool, resident of Haba Kadal. Both the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment, where Basit Maqbool succumbed to his injures. After completion of medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
In another accident, a Scooty bearing registration number JK01S-2840 driven by Umer Sultan Ganie resident of old Chanpora Srinagar met with an accident at Pahroo Chowk in the jurisdiction of Police Station Nowgam, resulting in injuries to him. The injured was shifted to Bone and Joint Hospital Barzulla for treatment.
In Kulgam, a police constable identified as Tariq Ahmad posted at Police Post Jawahar Tunnel fell from a police vehicle near Jawahar Tunnel, resulting in injuries to him. He was shifted to District Hospital Kulgam for treatment, wherefrom he was referred to SKIMS Soura, Srinagar for further treatment.
In Anantnag, a Mini Bus bearing registration number JK03A-3874 collided with a motorcycle bearing registration number JK03-8635 at K.P Road near Paiebugh Petrol pump in the jurisdiction of Police Station Mattan, resulting in injuries to motorcyclist Shabir Ahmad Shah, resident of Mattan Chakelpora. The injured was shifted to District Hospital Anantnag for treatment, where from he was shifted to Srinagar hospital for further treatment.
Police have registered the cases in this regard.
