Jitendra announces cashless sale facility at Dilli Haat’s Northeast stall

NEW DELHI: At the initiative of Union Minister for Northeast, Dr Jitendra Singh, the Northeast Stall ‘Purbashree’ achieved the distinction of becoming the first-ever stall / pavilion at Dilli Haat here to introduce cashless sale facility for its customers, keeping in tune with the Modi Government’s current drive to promote cashless transactions.
The announcement was made by Union Minister for Northeast, Dr Jitendra Singh when Union Textiles Minister Smriti Irani visited the stall at the invitation of the DoNER Ministry which is seeking collaboration to boost the market for textile products from Northeast.
Briefing the media, Jitendra said, the Northeast stall “Purbashree”, which was set up in Dilli Haat earlier this year, has begun to attract more and more number of visitors with each passing day. He regretted that even though ideally the stall should have been set up right at the time of opening of Dilli Haat several years ago, it is a reflection of commitment of the Modi Government that it has made up for this lapse without wasting time.
Smriti Irani, accompanied by Dr Jitendra Singh, went through the various sections of the “Purbashree’ Stall
and assured that her Ministry officials will maintain a regular contact with the DoNER Ministry officials in order to widen the scope of Northeast textile products and also to plan their wider projection. She also revealed the plan to encourage textile industry in Northeast with the involvement of local population.
