Implement 7th Pay commission, release pending DA: USTA

JAMMU: Provincial Committee members of J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA) on Sunday sought immediate implementation of 7th Pay commission report and release of pending DA.
In this regard, a meeting of Provincial Committee members of USTA was held here at Green Belt Park, Gandhi Nagar under the Chairmanship of Hari Singh, Provincial President.
The meeting also reviewed the march to Parliament and Dharna programme at Jantar-Mantar, New Delhi to be held under the banner of School Teachers Federation of India on 29th November, 2016 to mount pressure on the Central Government to withdraw New Pension scheme (NPS) and implement Old Pension Scheme for all employees and teachers appointed on or after 1st January 2004. USTA has acquired more than 15,000 signatures from teachers in Jammu Province to be submitted to Prime Minister of India in support of the demands. The meeting apprised that about 50 activists of USTA are going to participate in this nationwide protest programme. The meeting in one voice appealed the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir to withdraw New Pension Scheme (NPS) and implement Old Pension Scheme in favour of employees and teachers appointed on or after 1st January 2010 in the State. Others who were present in the meeting include Rajiv Kumar, Dr. Shashi Paul Singh, Pardeep Singh, Sajjad Mirza, Raj Kumar, Z.A Malik, Sunil Thappa, Roop Lal, Madan Singh, Thuru Ram and Shanti Saroop Sharma.
