Sajid of J&K made head coach of women’s football team

JAMMU: All India Football Federation (AIFF) has appointed Sajid Yousuf Dar of Jammu and Kashmir as head coach of the Indian women team gearing up for the SAFF Women’s Championship hosted by India.
Announced by AIFF, the Indian women’s football team shall be attending to the preparatory camp at the JCT campus Hoshiarpur in Punjab from 5th to 22nd December. The Indian side has been drawn in Group B of the SAFF Women’s Championship, which is slated to kick-off in Siliguri from 26th December along with Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
Pertinently Sajid in his previous assignments as coach has represented India Under-14 boys at Japan, India Under-14 at Nepal, Under-17 India World Cup preparation team and Indian women senior team which emerged as Champions in 12th South Asian Games.
Speaking about his appointment Sajid thanked his employer, University of Kashmir and J and K Football Association who have time and again reposed trust in him for bringing laurels for the State.
As per the laid down fixture, India clash swords against Afghanistan in their opening match on 27th December, while they face Bangladesh on New Year’s eve, 31st December. In
all, 35 players across the country have been called for the preparatory camp in Punjab.
