District Wushu Championship begins

JAMMU: Chief Coach of India, Kuldeep Handoo, on Friday inaugurated three-days District Wushu Championship at MA Stadium, here. Approximately 400 participants from different schools and clubs are participating in the championship which is being organized by the District Jammu Wushu Association. Kuldeep advised all athletes to take the sports in positive way in order to get name and fame at the national and international level. He appealed to the government for providing the basic facilities to this medal prospectus and priority sports in the State and country. Others present in the opening ceremony were Surya Bhanu Partap Singh, Rajinder Singh (International Medalists), Ajay Paul Singh, Arun Singh, Lalit Singh, Ashi Jamwal, Kalyani (SAI Coach), Sheetal, Ruchi and Mukesh Sharma.
Today’s results: Under-3: Nawang 1st, Parth 2nd and Aarav Saini and Harman Singh joint 3rd. Below-15 kg BOYS (5 yrs): Atharv 1st , Sashant 2nd and Aryan and Antirksh, joint 3rd. 20 kg: Youvraj 1st, Rabjot 2nd and Manyvar and Sakhsham, joint 3rd. 24 Kg: Harjash Singh 1st, Shivanshu 2nd and Harmanjot and Adhant, joint 3rd. 30 Kg (GIRLS): Shika 1st, Parjna Gupta 2nd and Saloni and Shivani, joint 3rd. 56kg: Aqsa Malik 1st, Tehzeeb Javed 2nd and Abhigya Gupta and Amodhini Gupta, joint 3rd. 42 Kg (Girls): Mehak Gupta 1st, Shreya Balgotra 2nd and Riya and Jyoti, 3rd.
