Mir seeks rehabilitation of fire sufferers

JAMMU: Urging the State Government to rehabilitate the fire sufferers of Buchwara (Dalgate) Srinagar, whose houses were gutted completely or partially in a devastating fire incident a day before yesterday, JKPCC Chief G.A Mir has said that government should come forward to rehabilitate the affected people keeping in the fast approach harsh winter.
Terming this incident as most unfortunate, he said the fire has claimed 28 houses, leaving 70 families shelterless, as reported, besides one person dead. He also expressed grief over the loss of precious life in this unfortunate incident. PCC Chief urged that affected people should be compensated fully, as they all are poor people with an inadequate source of income. He urged upon the Divisional Administration to make assessment of losses caused due to fire incident and ensure that affected people do not suffer on account of shelter, food, clothing etc., he added. He further said that government should also facilitate the reconstruction of gutted houses on priority basis.
