J&K beat Maharashtra to enter Mini Volleyball quarterfinals

MORENA: It was a proud moment for Jammu and Kashmir boys volleyball team as the team on Tuesday qualified for the knock-out stages of quarterfinals in the 25th Mini National Volleyball Championship at Morena in Madhya Pradesh.
The event is being held under the aegis of Volleyball Federation of India.
Before reaching the quarterfinals, J and K boys defeated Maharashtra 3-1 in their third match from group-B. After losing first set by 25-27, J and K team bounced back and won three sets by 25-18, 25-12 and 25-20, reports reaching here said.
From J and K, Gourav Sangra, Rahul Verma, Sandeep, Happy, Mukesh and Neeraj displayed exceptional skills throughout the game. It is pertinent to mention here that Jammu and Kashmir team outplayed Pondicherry by 3-0 in first match and Delhi by 2-1 in second.
Now, the J and K has uphill task in hand when they take on the Rajasthan in the last match of pre-quarterfinals tomorrow.
“We are leaving no stone unturned in holding the head high of the State in the arena of volleyball game in this championship,” J and K coach Deepak Sharma said.
“We really learned from those three matches. Now, we’re playing every match like it’s a gold-medal match,” J and K players said.
President Volleyball Association of J and K, Sidharth Daluja and other office bearers sending good wishes to J and K team, Manager and Coach for brilliant performance in three matches and wished best of luck for future games.
