Vakil for resumption of Indo-Pak dialogue, engagement with separatists

SRINAGAR: Former Minister Ab Gani Vakil while censuring civil society groups for carrying out futile exercise in Kashmir has called upon the central government to resume bilateral dialogue with Pakistan and initiate a serious engagement with the separatist leaders spearheading the current phase of armed uprising in Kashmir.
In a statement issued here on Monday, Vakil said phased normalcy should not be mistaken by the central government as tirelessness of Kashmiris but an opportunity to resume dialogue with Pakistan and start engagement with the top separatist leaders spearheading the current phase of armed uprising in Kashmir.
Warning both India and Pakistan of the dire consequences of prolonged bilateral disengagement Vakil said ” world powers particularly P-5 countries of the security council are not allowing India and Pakistan to resolve Kashmir just for their own purposes of continuing selling arms to both New Delhi and Islamabad”. Calling upon both India and Pakistan not to allow top world powers to come in their way of peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue Vakil called upon the central government to immediately resume bilateral dialogue with Pakistan and initiate a serious engagement with the separatist spearheading the current phase of armed uprising in Kashmir to stabilize atmosphere of peace and security in Indian sub continent.
