JAMMU: Member Parliament Rajya Sabha, Shamsher Singh Manhas reiterated that BJP Government at Centre and State is committed to encourage rural sports in Jammu and Kashmir. Manhas, while interacting with the players of cricket tournament at Mini Stadium, Bhure Chak of Phalian-Mandal, said that Central Government has launched its prestigious scheme Khelo India under National Programme for Development of Sports. In the final played on Monday, Phallian Cricket Club outplayed Parladpur Cricket Club. Manhas gave away trophy to winning team. Shotu clinched title of Man of the Match and Man of the Series awards. Aman Gupta was declared best bowler of the tournament.
The prominent persons present on the occasion included Jagmohan Sharma (Retd Deputy Secretary) Baru Ram (Sarpanch), Bahadur Singh Manhas, Kuldeep Raj, Mohan Lal, Shiv Ram, Bhupti Keshav, Vishal Sharma and Ricky.
